Policy and Procedures Manual of the National
Association of State Judicial Educators
Introduction
July 2001
FORMAT:
This manual is organized into sections of related information, each
of which is given a section number followed by a decimal point.
Each section is divided into specific areas, each of which is assigned
a three digit subsection number which follows the decimal point
of the section number. Numbers are assigned in such a manner that
sections and additions within sections can be made without altering
the existing numbering system.
UPDATING:
The information in this manual is to be reviewed by the NASJE Board
on a regular basis and modified as necessary to reflect any changes
in policies, procedures and practices. Any full or associate member
of NASJE may develop and recommend policies or procedures. A majority
vote of the Board is required to make changes to the manual.
MAINTENANCE:
Both a written and automated version of this manual are to be maintained
by the Secretariat of NASJE, who shall make necessary changes as
approved by the Board. Copies of the manual and updates are to be
provided to Board members and the membership in a loose-leaf binder.
Updates are to be forwarded to Board members within 30 days of adoption.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the manual is to clarify and record policies, procedures
and practices of the Association for reference, guidance and consistency
in operations over time. Information provided should facilitate
effective and efficient handling of the association. This manual
is to be a supplement to the NASJE Bylaws, providing details and
operational clarification within the framework provided by the Bylaws
of the Association.
USE:
The information in this manual is for the general membership, all
committees and the Board. It will provide a better understanding
of the operation of the Association, assist individuals and committees
in more efficiently carrying out duties and responsibilities, and
allow members to more effectively participate in Association activities
