About the Webinar

The Conference of Chief Justices/Conference of State Court Administrators has endorsed the importance of training on behavioral health for all judges and court staff (Resolution 1-2024), including recognizing the Judges and Psychiatrists Leadership Initiative (JPLI) training in this area. The JPLI has been working to build capacity so that any interested state can access in-state or regional training teams at cost.

This webinar will include speakers from the JPLI, which is a partnership between National Center for State Courts, Council of State Governments Justice Center, and American Psychiatric Association Foundation, and will introduce state judicial educators to the training options available through the JPLI, including how to access and bring this resource to your state.

The webinar will also include opportunities for state judicial educators who are interested in this topic to participate in the national project.

Topics Covered

  • About the JPLI curricula: Learning objectives, timing, and delivery options
  • Bringing the JPLI to your state: How to request a training, customizing trainings, identifying your local trainers, associated costs
  • NASJE & JPLI: Opportunities for state judicial educators to advise on measuring the impact of the training
